Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups flour + 2tbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Bolognese Sauce (see my Penne Al Ragu recipe for the filling)
- ⅔ cup warm water
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 tbs avocado oil
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix the instant yeast and sugar with warm water (ideally between 100-110). Stir and set aside for 5 minutes.
- The yeast mixture should start to bubble, add in the avocado oil, and set aside.
- In a mixer or mixing bowl mix together the dry ingredients: flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Slowly mix in the yeast mixture until a dough forms. If it feels sticky, add in more flour.
- Knead, put it back in the bowl, and cover with plastic wrap or a towel for 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Set up your stove top steamer.
- Portion the dough into 2 inch balls.
- Roll out each dough ball, fill it with the Bolognese sauce, and pinch it closed at the top.
- Steam for 10-12 minutes, serve, and enjoy!
