One of the many great things of Amore Sabino EVOO is its delicate flavor which doesn’t overpower the rest of the food on the plate. It’s the perfect last touch for an avocado toast. Buon appetito!
The Sabina is a region 50km (31 miles) north-east of Rome, covering almost all the province of Rieti and extending along the Tiber River. Also known as "Sabinashire”, it has nothing to envy to more famous countryside regions in Italy. This area is ideal for walking, biking, horse back riding and even trekking and exploring rivers and mountains.
This region is named after the Sabines. They lived in two of the Seven Hills of Rome, and together with the Latins - who lived in the other hills of Rome - formed part of the population of Rome at the time of its foundation.
The Sabine Hills produce some of the best extra virgin olive oil in Italy. In fact, chronologically speaking, it's the first Italian Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) oil to gain the certification from the European Community. The rocky limestone combined with the area’s climate creates the olive oil’s low acidity and characteristic peppery taste.
The production of olives and oil is a millennial tradition in the Sabina area.
